Finally the WMRA announced the circus’ calendar: twice in Spain and twice in Italy, the amazing landscapes of Broken Arrow, the pivotal games at Grossglockner and then in the magnificent Zinal, the trip to Czech for Krkonosky Marathon and the rewind at Nordkette Vertical before the final showdown in Chiavenna.
12 races in 9 venues for 6 countries and ONE champion.
The athlete (male and female) that will lift the trophy in the sky of Chiavenna next October will deserve the biggest headlines because he’d run hard for 5 months and grabbed the points on all terrain, from VK to long distance to classic mountain rush.
Let’s see if the 2019 world medalists will show themselves at the 2020 world cup stages . . . I can’t wait to know if the patagonian glory was a “one-day-shot” or a “diamond-for-ever” . . . ๐
At the end some words for those which are not in the series, I already miss the great classics such as Snowdon, Smarna and Bergen, but as I know this is a rolling series and one or two years of break will not change what these races represent for the Mountain Running.
